This abstract horse highlights bold, sweeping brushstrokes, reminiscent of a fast ride. I used colors familiar to me when on a fast, spring ride after a long winter. I painted this when living in Minnesota. And seeing bright greens peeking through a blue gray landscape is wildly invigorating! 50"x36"
For nights and nights, I told my sons a story about a very big fish. It started as a crazy dream I had and evolved into a bedtime favorite. They loved the story. Eventually, after so many requests for the Big Dream Fish story, I painted this painting. 36"x26"
I did this painting as a newlywed. Over years, the painting took on new meanings. Not only, for myself but for our children. I tucked in hearts, a nail and a bottle. But while the painting hung over our bed and our children were young, they would lie looking at it upside down and find turtles and bananas! 40"x40"
It's all about the beach bikini. Sun. Sand. And striped umbrellas. What more do I have to say? This is a big one. SOLD 60"x42"
I thought I was going to make this a very simple brown, black and white bucking bronc rider. It took on a life of it's own and I am so glad I let it ride. I used lots of line movement in the the horse mane and tail and the rider's chaps to mimic the jarring jumps of both. Underneath the dust on the left, you can faintly make out the words 'Fourth of July Tradition' which I decided to almost delete before signing. 40"x40"
